Cornel jam is a traditional and popular sweet in Azerbaijan. The cornel fruit is dark red with a tart-sweet flavor, and when made into jam, it becomes both tasty and highly nutritious. It is especially enjoyed in winter, often served with tea, and is valued as a natural remedy for colds.

- Cornel (dogwood) fruit – 1 kg
- Sugar – 1–1.2 kg
- Water – approx. 1 cup

Preparation:
- Wash the cornel fruits and remove stems.
- Prepare a syrup by boiling sugar and water until fully dissolved.
- Add the cornel to the syrup and cook on medium heat until fruits soften and absorb the syrup without falling apart.
- Add lemon juice or citric acid near the end of cooking.
- Pour the jam into sterilized jars, seal tightly, and let cool.
Uses:
- Served with tea for a sweet-tart treat.
- Used in desserts, cakes, and pastries.
- A natural remedy for cold symptoms.
